Within the framework of implementing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the mandates of the Prime Minister to implement the new system for managing municipal solid waste in all governorates of Egypt. The Planning, Local Development, Finance, and Military Production Ministries have signed a new solid waste collection system contract with Ertekaa as of September 2021. This contract aims to ensure the amelioration of citizens’ lifestyle, overall hygiene, and the environment following the UN development goals and Egypt’s 2030 vision. Ertekaa took over the responsibility of the collection, transportation, and safe disposal of solid municipal waste as well as street and public facilities cleaning in the Western neighborhoods of Cairo Governorate.  This project is believed to be crucial for the development of Egyptian society and the partnership between the government and private sectors such as Ertekaa is key to the national economy. This partnership was made possible thanks to the collaboration of Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Major General Mahmoud Shaarawi, Minister of Local Development, Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance,  Engineer Mohamed Ahmed Morsi, and Lieutenant General Abdel Moneim Al-Terras, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization.
